Canada vs Morocco Highlights & Replay

On July 4, 2026, the global stage of the World Cup hosted a fascinating encounter between Canada and Morocco. Both nations entered the pitch with high expectations, setting the scene for a contest defined by tactical discipline and physical commitment.

A Balanced and Tense First Half

The match began with Canada showing early aggression, looking to unsettle the Moroccan defense. Jonathan David and Tani Oluwaseyi tested the reflexes of Yassine Bounou within the first ten minutes, but the Moroccan goalkeeper stood firm to keep the game scoreless. Morocco suffered an early setback when Ismael Saibari was forced off with an injury, replaced by Soufiane Rahimi in the 22nd minute. Tension mounted as half-time approached, with the referee issuing yellow cards to Achraf Hakimi, Richie Laryea, and Jonathan David in an increasingly physical battle.

Ounahi Takes Center Stage

The deadlock was finally broken shortly after the restart in the 50th minute. Azzedine Ounahi unleashed a precise right-footed shot from outside the box, finding the bottom right corner following an Achraf Hakimi assist from a set-piece situation. Canada attempted to respond with substitutions and increased offensive pressure, but the Moroccan backline remained disciplined. In the 82nd minute, Morocco delivered a clinical blow on a fast break. Brahim Díaz turned provider for Ounahi, who finished brilliantly into the top right corner to double the lead.

Final Blow in Stoppage Time

In the closing stages, Canada pushed forward but failed to convert their late chances. Soufiane Rahimi nearly added a third when his header struck the bar in the 85th minute, but he would not be denied for long. In the 90+8th minute, assisted once again by the creative Brahim Díaz, Rahimi slotted home a left-footed shot to seal a comprehensive 3-0 victory. The final whistle confirmed Morocco's dominance in the second half, securing three vital points in the tournament.
